MTNA Composition Competition


The MTNA Composition Competition is a three-tiered national competition, with Elementary, Junior, Senior and Young Artist levels. The winners/representatives of each state's competition advance to the division competition. Division winners compete in the national finals. The national winners have their compositions performed at the annual MTNA National Conference.


Eligibility:


•    Students between the ages of 5 and 26, who live in Alabama, or who study with a teacher who is a member of the Alabama Music Teachers Association, are encouraged to apply.

•    The teacher’s MTNA active membership dues must be paid before submission of the student’s application. A $150 nonmember teacher fee will be assessed if entrant's teacher has not paid active membership dues for the current membership year.

•    Registration deadline is Wednesday, September 11, 2024, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. There will be no exceptions.
